Home of the Brave
The Home of the Brave is a not-for-profit transitional living facility that provides assistance to U.S. veterans of any era for the opportunity to return to useful and productive lives by providing them with the skills for independent living.
I have lived on both sides of the fence. Once I hit the bottom I found it almost
impossible to get back up again. The COVO house has been a godsend. It has given
me the space to get my stuff together. It is a new approach at getting
veterans off the street and back into a life style of quality. It will hopefully
give us the inspiration to keep it that way when we leave here. USMC Veteran, DT
The mission of the Home is to serve those who served the nation.

The "Home of the Brave" is a six bedroom house which was previously used as an adult foster home and is completely handicap accessible. This house which was leased by COVO in November 2006 and operation paid for by a generous grant from the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Trust. Six disadvantaged veterans reside in the house. The goal is for these men to develop self-sufficiency in 18 to 24 months through saving money, education or job skills upgrade.

Several of the residents of the house who had been homeless for long periods of time have already graduated. They were offered either a good paying job, apartment or were able because of their sobriety to return to their families.

The furnishings were donated by Veterans and Friends of COVO in the community.
