Services

COVO  provides a variety of  services including:

OUTREACH 

COVO volunteers travel throughout the vast area of Central Oregon locating homeless camps in the State and Federal lands.  To this date we have identified 42 Camps with 200 residents.

COVO  provides

    Food, Blankets, Clothing, Sleeping Bags, Tents, Heaters to those individuals.

    Transportation for medical treatment both routine and emergent.

    A sympathetic ear. 

    During those visits we attempt to develop rapport with those individuals living in the field.  After establishing rapport outreach volunteers attempt  to convince those with substance abuse and addiction to enter treatment. 

IN OUR OFFICE  COVO  offers:

Access to, and use of, VA and other appropriate agencies.

  Application for, and receipt of, veterans service-connected disability compensation, non-service-connected pension,  or Social Security  Disability Insurance benefits.

  Military discharge upgrade and military records corrections.

  Referrals to addictions treatment programs

  Referral to  state and federal vocational rehabilitation services

  Referral for  mental health evaluations

 Advice re:  Education (GED, college advising, benefits under the GI Bill

COVO has developed cooperative relationships with hospitals, physicians, lawyers, educators, and business professionals in the community to provide services offsite.
